چکیده

Abstract The manganese (Mn) hyperaccumulator Gossia bidwillii is a tree species native to subtropical eastern Australia where it occurs on Mn-rich soils. Here, we conducted the first Mn accumulation and tissue-level distribution study wild experimentally grown G. . plants were subjected different levels of (250 µg g −1 , 500 1000 ) soil dosing treatments, whereas was sampled from growing highly Mn-enriched natural We used laboratory-based micro-X-ray Fluorescence (µXRF) elemental mapping elucidate in situ patterns other elements hydrated Mn-dosed leaves. data revealed that can be strongly Mn-hyperaccumulating with foliar concentrations 39 000 24 old young leaves, respectively. In trial, accumulated 400 leaves 17 100 highest treatment level. laboratory based µXRF uniformly enriched throughout laminae petioles both G ; while primarily concentrated at leaf-tip lamina. approach employed by combining field controlled experiments especially meaningful for investigating this gaining added insight into phenomenon hyperaccumulation.

the underlying structure of language proficiency and the proficiency level

proficiency level and factors fostering reticence in efl learners

according to cheng (1999), in recent esl/efl literature, asian (especially east asian) learners of english as a foreign/second language have been arguably reported as reticent and passive learners. the most common allegations are that these students are reluctant to participate in classroom discourse; they are unwilling to give responses; they do not ask questions; and they are passive and over...

Phosphite and mycorrhizal formation in seedlings of three Australian Myrtaceae

Currently in Western Australia, phosphite is being used to contain the root and collar rot pathogen, Phytophthora cinnamomi, in native plant communities. There have been reports of negative effects of phosphite on arbuscular mycorrhiza (AM), so there are concerns that it may have a deleterious effect on other mycorrhizal fungi. Two glasshouse experiments were undertaken to determine the impact ...

Functional and evolutionary relationships between terpene synthases from Australian Myrtaceae.

Myrtaceae is one of the chemically most variable and most significant essential oil yielding plant families. Despite an abundance of chemical information, very little work has focussed on the biochemistry of terpene production in these plants. We describe 70 unique partial terpene synthase transcripts and eight full-length cDNA clones from 21 myrtaceous species, and compare phylogenetic relatio...

Acute Toxicity and Accumulation of Iron, Manganese and, Aluminum in Caspian Kutum Fish (Rutilus kutum)

Background: Iron, manganese, and aluminum are three abundant metals on earth and their concentrations have increased in aquatic environments as a result of natural and industrial activities. This study was undertaken to report the median acute toxicity (LC50) and accumulation of the sub-lethal concentration (10% 96-h LC50) of iron (Fe), manganese (Mn) and aluminum (Al) in kutum (Rutilus kutum) ...
